Deputy President (DP) William Ruto on Sunday dismissed claims of division in the Jubilee Party.

Dr Ruto said the party was one, with a mission to unite and transform the country.

“There are no factions in Jubilee. No one is planning to wrestle the party from anyone,” the DP said.

Those are allegations, he added, that are being peddled by some elements who want to see Jubilee divided.

“Detractors rattled by Jubilee emerging united/strong post-Sagana are, in collabo with usual brown envelope journalists, back to drawing board to continue their never ending scheme to stumble us. The words of Matthew 18:6 await you if you succeed in your ungodly mission. Tunawaombea,” said the DP earlier in on his Twitter handle.

Dr Ruto noted that Jubilee believes in the democratic tenets, and everyone’s view counts in its day-to-day running irrespective of their positions in the society.

The DP made the comments in Kiserian, Kajiado County during a prayer service at the Dominion Chapel.

Leaders who accompanied Dr Ruto said they were firmly in Jubilee, and would support President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy in transforming the country.

The DP was reacting to an article carried by the Daily Nation that claimed that his allies are in a plot to have him assume control of the ruling party because President Kenyatta “has deserted the party.”
