Monday blackout to affect 2 counties – Kenya Power

Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions in two counties on Monday, December 4.

In a statement shared on Sunday, December 3, the utility company said some parts of Kiambu and Laikipia counties will be affected by the scheduled interruptions.

In Kiambu County, the areas to be affected include Mataara, Gachege, and several surrounding locations. The planned power interruption starts at 9:00 a.m. and concludes at 5:00 p.m.

The specific locations listed for the power outage in Kiambu county include Gituamba market, Mataara transformer facility, Mataara Primary School, Mataara Dispensary, Gaitete market, Gacharanye market, Ituramiro market, Gitwe market, Gitwe cooperative facility, Gakoe, Gachege market, Kamunyaka market, Kanyoni market, Ndiko market, Ndarugu transformer facility, Kaithere market, Karinga market, Karina Girls Secondary School, Mundoro market, Kagunyi market, Ndondo market, Ndondo school, and adjacent customers.

In Laikipia County, the planned power interruption will affect the Jua Kali area, commencing at 8:00 a.m. and concluding at 4:00 p.m.

The areas specified for the power outage in Laikipia County include Aloe’s farm, the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) shooting range, and adjacent customers.
