The government has asked the court to suspend its decision declaring the Housing Levy unconstitutional for 45 days to allow them come up with a way forward.

The request to issue an order to prevent Kenyans from asking for a refund by the Attorney General, the Senate and the National Assembly through lawyer George Murugara came minutes after the High Court declared the Housing Levy null and void on Tuesday, November 27.

Murugara sought to have the decision halted for 45 days to enable the government make necessary adjustments and contemplate whether they would appeal the decision.
