Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro ranked as best performing MP in Kenya

Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has been ranked as the best-performing MP in Kenya by a recent study by opinion polls firm Infortrak.

Nyoro had a 70 per cent score followed closely by his Kangema counterpart Peter Irungu at 68 per cent.

Five MPs ranked third at 66 per cent, including Paul Mwirigi (Igembe South), Gideon Mulyungi (Mwingi Central), Christopher Wangaya (Kwisero), Robert Mbui (Kathiani) and Peter Kaluma (Homa Bay Town).

Kitui Central MP Makali Mulu, Geoffrey Mwangi (Tetu) and James Githua (Kabete) scored 65 per cent each to close the list of the top 10 best-performing MPs.

“This performance rating is the first of its kind and magnitude in Kenya. It provides the Kenyans and other interested stakeholders with robust statistics by ward on the perception of constituency residents over Member of Parliament performance,” Infotrak stated in the report.

Regionally, Embakasi East MP was the best-performing MP in Nairobi, Mwirigi in Eastern, Nyoro in Central, Omar Mwinyi (Changamwe) in Coast, Naisula Lesuuda (Samburu West) in Rift Valley, Husseinweitan Abdirahman (Mandera East) in North Eastern, Wangaya in Western and Kaluma in Nyanza.

Nyoro is the best performing young MP followed by Mwirigi, Wangaya and Peter Salasya (64 per cent) from Mumias East.

Lesuuda was the best-performing female MP followed by Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo (60 per cent) and Wanjiku Muhia (Kipipiri) at 59 per cent.

Kangema’s Peter Irungu has been ranked as the most improved MP followed by Molo MP Kimani Kuria and Othaya MP Michael Wainaina.
