Former President Daniel arap Moi, 95, has been readmitted to the Nairobi Hospital for a routine medical check-up.
According to his Press Secretary Lee Njiru, Moi was admitted on Saturday, November 9.
”He is in a VIP wing, a homely setup, to facilitate continual checkups and necessary treatment,” said Mr Njiru in a statement to newsrooms.
Mr Njiru said the former president is being attended to by a team lead by his personal physician, Dr David Silverstein.
“I appeal to the press fraternity not to cause unwarranted alarm by exploiting the credulity of the masses. Medical bulletins will be issued as and if necessary,” said Mr Njiru.
Moi’s hospital visit comes days after he was discharged following two-weeks stay at the same hospital.
The former president celebrated his 95th birthday on September 2.
“Happy 95th birthday to H.E Mzee Moi. You are a beacon that continues to shine through the lives of the people. We wish you good health and abundant God’s providence,” his son Gideon wrote on his Facebook page.
