A body of an unidentified man was on Sunday afternoon September 3, 2023, found hanging on a tree around the Kisumu Road Junction interchange in Kericho County.
Police said the man is suspected to have hanged himself on the tree.
However, the police noted that a post-mortem will be conducted on the body to establish the exact cause of his death.
Authorities said the body was discovered by members of the public.
“The body was discovered by members of the public and touts who normally conduct business at the junction after a strong stench emanated from the thicket,” an officer from Nyagacho police station said.
The body is thought to have stayed there for a long time judging from a strong smell from the scene; a clear indication of human body decomposition.
Members of the public milled around the scene before police arrived and took the body to Kericho County Referral Hospital morgue.
None of the locals who saw the body was able to identify the deceased male.
