Worldcoin would not have accepted my data because of my squint eye – Daddy Owen

Gospel singer Daddy Owen shared that crypto startup Worldcoin would have had a difficult time mining his data because of his squint eye (macho chongo).

The American cryptocurrency firm carried out data capture activities that entailed scanning irises of those who turned up for registration in exchange for crypto tokens equivalent to Ksh7,000.

However, Worldcoin ceased its operations in Kenya after the government raised flags concerning the data it was collecting.

Speaking during an interview with Obinna, Daddy Owen joked that his data would be of little worth because of his squint eye.

Me najua tu ata nikienda hio machine haitatambua hii jicho yangu bro. Ningefika hapa wangeniambia ‘we want people with two eyes. We didn’t say one eye’,” Daddy Owen said.

Obinna interjected saying Daddy Owen’s squint eye was advantageous to him because he would have given Worldcoin misleading data.

But wewe ukienda Worldcoin ata uko poa you know why because unapatia hio macho fake ndo wanascan,” Obinna said.

The gospel singer noted that even if his eyes were to be scanned he would only have been paid half the money because Worldcoin would have only extracted data from one eye.

The gospel singer claimed that he would have been paid Ksh3,500 instead of Ksh7,000 because his squint eye would have confused the eyeball scanner resulting in Worldcoin getting only half of his data.

Bro ndio nakuambia io wangepata tu half of the information, hawangepata full. Lakini sasa wangenipiga Ksh3,500, hawangenipiga Ksh7,000. Wangesema uyu mse ni conman,” Daddy Owen said.

Dubai

Daddy Owen further claimed was scanned by a similar orb scan in Dubai and his squint eye totally ‘confused’ the machine.

Bro nishawai ingia Dubai tuko wasee kama watatu. Unajua siku hizi Dubai ukifika pale unascaniwa na iko ki globe. Wanascan, wanascan kufika kwangu inakataa,” Daddy Owen said albeit while joking.

Mob justice

Daddy Owen has in the past narrated how he got the squint eye as a result of mob justice when he was cornered stealing during his thieving days.

The musician used to be a thief and on the fateful day that he was beaten until his eyeball lost network, he was on a mission to steal in a matatu.

“My friends and I had planned to steal in a matatu, but things did not turn out well as the people in that matatu beat me up,” Daddy Owen said in a past interview.

“Like we had planned, I started the mission of stealing from the back seats but I was caught and badly beaten. That is when my eye was pierced,” he added.
