Mourners who had turned up for the burial of an 88-year-old man in Sachangwan Village in Molo, Nakuru County were shocked Friday mid-morning, when they were informed that the deceased had already been interred at 2am.

It is said Joseph Kiama had left a dying wish to his family, saying he should be buried at 2am, and that his body should not be taken to the morgue.

Kiama also instructed that his remains should not be buried in a coffin, but wrapped in a blanket and put on a mattress, which would be lowered into his grave.

The deceased also left an order that he be buried next to Molo River, and that mourners shouldn’t shed a tear throughout the period of grief.

Kabiang’a Location chief Joel Chepkwony told K24 Digital that Kiama’s family had informed him of the planned rituals.

“They said they would have to observe Kiama’s wishes lest they attract curses,” said the local administrator.

K24 Digital’s attempts to get a comment from Kiama’s family bore no fruit as the deceased’s relatives refused to speak to the media.
