Nairobi: 7 suspects arrested in possession of bhang

Police in Huruma, Nairobi county have arrested seven suspects for being in possession of narcotic drugs.

In an update, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI) says the suspects were nabbed during a midnight raid following a tip-off from members of the public.

They include; Alex Murimi, Woche Sipa, Clinton Odinga, Kevin Kimani, Mohamed Wako, John Chege and Hassan Yussuf.

“The seven suspects are facing charges of trafficking in narcotic drugs, being in possession of narcotic drugs and preparing to commit a felony,” part of the statement read.

The Starehe-based detectives also recovered over 10 kilograms of weed and 450 rolls of bhang, weighing scales, daggers and gas cylinders which detectives suspects had been stolen.

“In the raid that was conducted following a tip-off from members of the public, over 10 kilograms of bhang, 450 rolls of the same substance, weighing scales, daggers and gas cylinders suspected to have been stolen were recovered during the midnight raid on Saturday. A vehicle used to distribute the highly addictive drug in various parts of the city was also impounded,” the statement reads further.
