Betty Kyallo decided to open up about the mean grade she scored when she sat for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.

The media personality came clean about her KCSE grade while speaking to journalists during the premiere of season two of the reality series Kyallo Kulture which follows her private life and those ones of her family members.

Betty and her sisters businesswoman Mercy Kyallo and content creator Gloria Kyallo held an exclusive premiere of season two of their reality series at the Radisson Blu, Upper Hill on May 23, 2023.

The invite-only event was attended by the Kyallo family members (including their mother), various celebrities, actors and actresses and media personalities.

Speaking to journalists, Betty proudly revealed that she attained a mean grade of B minus in KCSE.

The mother of one added that her favourite subjects were Agriculture and Business. She speculated that she scored A plain in both subjects, cautioning Kenyans not to go to the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) to confirm her grades.

I got a B- and then in Agriculture, I think I got an A. I was so good at Business and Agriculture. I think I got both As if I am not wrong. Musiende huku KNEC museme alipata ngapi ohh she lied to us… It was a long time back,” Betty Kyallo said while laughing.

The media personality further disclosed that her worst subject in high school was Chemistry. She couldn’t help but question how the things she learnt in the subject have helped her in life.

Chemistry [worst subject] Mimi nlienda huko as a news anchor how is titration helping me? How is water turning blue or green or pink helping me?” Betty Kyallo said.

Betty Kyallo is among celebrities who have openly revealed the grades they attained in KCSE even though they didn’t perform exceptionally well.

Some celebs like rapper Trio Mio vehemently fought off pressure to make his KCSE grade public amid speculations he failed.

The minimum grade to get into a university in Kenya is C+. Even so, having a B+ is considered the cut point for success since it means one is eligible for many marketable programs offered by Kenya’s leading institutions.

However, some celebs like Khaligraph Jones who failed to attain the C+ mean score, have proved wrong the notion that the most successful people in life are academic elites.

Khaligraph first opened up about his KCSE grade in his song ‘Maombi Ya Mama’ where he talked about his life struggles, revealing that he got a D+.
