Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has responded to gospel artiste Mercy Jerop, who had asked him to buy her a car “to aid her ministry”.
Jerop wrote on a placard that she needed the car to aid her ministry, insinuating preaching through her songs.
“Please Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen, buy me a car to aid my ministry,” she wrote on the placard and shared her phone number.
Murkomen’s response
In response, the CS said that he would help her start a business that can sustain her gospel ministry in the long run.
“Mercy was a saloonist who like many other entrepreneurs suffered a major setback in 2020 because of CoViD. We have discussed how I can support the revival of her business. We have agreed that even though a car may be important for her ministry, it’s better to support a sustainable business that can finance her gospel ministry in the long run,” he stated.
Quoting the Bible, Murkomen also congratulated Mercy for her service to God and mankind.
“I congratulate Mercy for her service to God and mankind. “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7,” added Murkomen.
Mercy started singing in 2015 with her first video on YouTube in 2018. Currently, she has 15 songs to her name.
