Police in Nambale town in Busia County rescued a woman from a mob that was baying for her blood after a man was killed in her house at night.
The deceased’s body was found near the woman’s house in the morning following the night fight with another man.
According to the woman’s landlord, the man was stabbed to death by another man in a suspected love triangle.
The assailant found the deceased in the woman’s rented house at night and a loud quarrel ensued thereafter, the landlord said.
The landlord, James Ndung’u, said he heard the two men fighting at night but did not step outside to intervene as he assumed they were police officers handling local drunkards.
In the morning, an angry crowd wanted to lynch the woman but police officers intervened.
