Devolution Cabinet Secretary has been given 11 days to return a vehicle belonging to the Ministry of Water that he has been using for the last two years.
The ultimatum was issued by the National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) that is chaired by Ugunga MP Opiyo Wandayi.
The committee told CS Wamalwa to hand over the vehicle failure to which he would be forced to appear before PAC to explain why he has been holding on to the vehicle.
In his ruling, MP Wandayi told Water Principal Secretary Joseph Irungu to inform the committee once the vehicle is surrendered.
Wamalwa was moved from Water docket to the current Devolution ministry, but has failed to hand over the vehicle registration number KCH 683T as required by law.
“I want to direct the CS Eugene Wamalwa to take it upon himself to surrender the vehicle back to the ministry of Water latest Friday, March 13th. You (PS) must also write to Parliament indicating compliance to the directive. But if he does not comply, we shall bring him here in person,” he said.
The order came after Irungu told the team his attempts to take back the vehicle have failed.
