Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinard Waititu says he tested positive for the coronavirus disease and he is undergoing treatment.
His lawyer John Swaka told the Anti-Corruption Court Magistrate Thomas Nzioki on Monday, August 31, that the former governor could not attend court for the hearing of his case because of his ill-health.
As such, the magistrate adjourned the hearing to November 26, to give the former county boss time to self-isolate and recover from the virus.
The prosecution team was served with the medical report and was satisfied with the position taken by the court.
Four witnesses were set to testify in the case in which Waititu is charged with six counts in the Sh580 million irregular tendering.
Waititu was charged alongside his wife, Susan Wangari Ndung’u, and eight others at the Milimani Law Courts.
Three companies were also charged alongside the Kiambu governor and his wife.
