It has now emerged that Innocent Kalio, on Friday, July 16 mourned his girlfriend after reportedly stabbing her to death in a lodging in Githurai, Nairobi.
In a Facebook post, the suspect mourned his lover, Christine Ambani, a student at Kiriri Women’s University of Science & Technology noting that her demise had hit him hard.
He further rebuked her killers, stating that they will never know peace.
“This is more than worse to me. Rest easy my close person. They’ll never have peace,” he wrote in the post that has since gone viral.
On Sunday, July 25, Kalio made another post advising his followers on the social media platform to not be prisoners of their past.
“Never be a prisoner of your past. It was just a lesson, not a life sentence,” he said.
DCI on Tuesday gave a blow to blow account of how 3rd-year student-christine Ambani was found lying dead on a bed in a guest room in Githurai with her neck bearing deep stab wounds.
On that day, July 13, the student had left the University in the morning accompanied by a friend to meet her boyfriend in Githurai town, 15 kilometres away.
The two would then book themselves a guest room which according to the management it was only for a few hours since Christine had semester’s Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs) later that afternoon.
However, Christine did not return to sit for the afternoon paper and the boyfriend topped up the earlier paid amount to last them for the entire night.
It was at that night Kalio turned killer and mercilessly murdered his girlfriend by stabbing her on the neck savagely and left her bleeding to her last breath.
Later, he would then take over Christine’s phone to demand Ksh 87,000 using the family WhatsApp group.
Kalio who is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Specialist Needs Education was also identified as the culprit behind the murder of at least three people – his brother, his brother’s wife and their one-year baby.
He is suspected to have killed the three by setting their house ablaze while they were inside.
The matter was investigated by Mumias based detectives under reference number DCI/CR/NO925/36/2021 and the case file was forwarded to the DPP for further action.
