Police have launched investigations into the killing of a 74-year-old Swedish missionary in her rented house in Milimani estate, Kitale town.
Trans Nzoia West OCPD Joseph Tum told the press in Kitale that the woman Lilian Bourcart might have been raped before being strangled to death.
He said the deceased stayed alone but had two workers who walked to thier respective homes after work.
One of her workers, Ms. Philomena Chepkorir, 27, told police that she reported to work at around 8 am and found the doors open only to realize that her boss had been killed.
Police said her body was found in the garage that also served as a store, with blood oozing from her private parts.
Tum said a suspect has been arrested and is helping police with investigations.
