Suspected malaria outbreak has hit 10 villages in Baringo County.

About 15 people have been admitted to Kapau Dispensary in Tiaty Constituency.

The Baringo County health department has deployed a team of medical officers to Tirioko Ward to contain the disease.

“We have sent six county doctors and the 15 patients are already receiving treatment,” said Baringo County Health Chief Officer Gideon Toromo.

In October 2017, malaria killed over 20 people in Tiaty Sub County, majority of them children.

Last year, another malaria outbreak hit the same sub county.
