Sudi demands arrest of man assaulting Bella Comedy in viral video
By William Muthama, August 11, 2025Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has called for the immediate arrest of a man recorded in a viral video assaulting female content creator Bella Comedy.
Sudi’s plea came through a post on his official X account on Monday, August 10, 2025, where he condemned the incident and urged the perpetrator to surrender to authorities.
“The assault on Bella Comedy by Motiriot Kipkosgei is concerning. Violence against women is unacceptable. Kipkosgei surrender yourself to the nearest police station,” Sudi wrote.

Outrage over attack
The incident occurred during the Kutit Festival, a Kalenjin cultural event held at Nairobi’s Carnivore Gardens over the weekend. Bella Comedy, a well-known comedian and TikTok star, was performing when the attack took place.
The disturbing footage, widely shared on social media, captures Pavilion physically assaulting Bella Comedy while she is initially seen kneeling before being pulled up and punched repeatedly in the stomach.
Shockingly, several men present at the scene did not intervene during the attack.

The motive behind the assault remains unclear, but the graphic nature of the video has sparked outrage from the public and political leaders alike. The violent act comes amid growing concerns over gender-based violence in Kenya.
Calls for justice
Nominated Senator Hamida Kibwana also condemned the attack in a statement issued on Monday, calling the act “totally unacceptable” and urging for decisive action to ensure justice is served.

Event organizers of Kutit Culture have distanced themselves from the incident, clarifying that the assault was not sanctioned or connected to their event. They expressed willingness to cooperate fully with investigations.
The call for swift justice by leaders like Oscar Sudi echoes the public demand for accountability and stronger measures against violence targeting women in Kenya.
