Eighty-eight (88) out of 122 Nairobi MCAs on Thursday evening (December 3) voted in favour of the impeachment of Governor Mike Sonko.
The impeachment motion will now proceed to Senate for ratification or rejection.
At least 82 MCAs were required to endorse the governor’s impeachment bid for it to go through.
The ward administrators removed Sonko on abuse of office grounds, gross misconduct and lack of integrity to continue holding the position.
