Police shot dead seven suspects and recovered an AK-47 rifle and Administration Police jungle jackets on Thursday morning in Isinya, Kajiado County.

Acting on a tip-off, detectives from the Special Services Unit trailed a black Toyota Fielder registration number KCB 583L within Isinya town but the suspects sped towards Mbirika trading centre on the Isinya-Kiserian road.

However, on reaching the China Construction Site area, the suspects, having sensed that they were being trailed made a U-turn and drove back towards Isinya.

They were then confronted by the detectives who challenged them to stop their car, leading to the deadly shootout.

All of them were shot dead and the AK-47 rifle whose serial number had been obliterated and loaded with 3 rounds of ammunition, seized.

A police source told K24 Digital that the gunned down suspects were behind violent robberies committed in Mlolongo, Isinya and Nairobi.
