Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has revealed his ambitious plans to build a grand mansion in his rural home village of Kisumu Ndogo, in Mumias East Sub-County, Kakamega County.

Salasya on Sunday, October 6, 2024, took to his official Instagram account to flaunt stunning images of the mansion plan, which he says he will build to shame his political opponents who really criticised him during the 2022 political campaigns.

The lawmaker says he will use his mortgage to put up the multi-million mansion.

Mansion in village

The youthful lawmaker further stated that he had decided to put up the mansion in his rural home because he would dwell in the village to pursue agriculture after quitting politics.

“I have decided to build this house through my mortgage at my home village of Kisumu Ndogo of Mumias East just because when I leave politics I will stay in my village, nikifanya agriculture,” Salasya stated.

During his 2022 political campaigns, Salasya says he faced harsh criticism from opponents who mocked his living situation, claiming he lived ‘like a bird in a culvert.’

Salasya on leadership

Salasya also reflected on his leadership journey, emphasising that he has always remained true to his calling.

He credits his success to divine guidance and his commitment to serving the people of Mumias East, never straying from his responsibilities as a leader.

“I am doing this to shame my opponents who insulted me during campaigns that I live like a bird that stays in a culvert. And to write a history that no one is limited ni kujituma na kuweka God mbele for His counsel, and also after getting it, I have never wronged Him by not serving the people He gave me to lead. Blessed Sunday,” Salasya wrote on Instagram.

Salasya recently revealed the progress of his rural mansion while beefing with former radio host and content creator, Andrew Kibe.

Salasya beef with Kibe

In a video shared via his Instagram account while responding to former radio host Kibe over criticism he had been directed at him, Salasya showed an ongoing construction project in which a foundation had been dug.

The feud between Salasya and Kibe started after the former radio host called him out for chasing after veteran socialite Huddah Monroe.

Kibe’s numerous attacks forced the youthful parliamentarian to respond, and on September 20, 2024, in a video shared on his Instagram account, Salasya asked Kibe to stop fanning the feud between him and Huddah, adding that he (Salasya) has nothing personal with the beauty products entrepreneur the way the content creator puts it.

He went on to call out Kibe for double standards, stating that the content creator first warned him about Huddah, and after he publicly revealed he had given up hitting on her, Kibe went ahead to call him a dreamer because the socialite is way above his league.
