Telecommunications giant, Safaricom, has appointed its former boss Michael Joseph as its CEO in an acting capacity.

Joseph’s appointment comes just a day after the firm’s highly-decorated boss, Bob Collymore, succumbed to Leukemia at his Nairobi home after a spirited 2-year battle.

“Mr Joseph will hold the position until the Board communicates in due course, on a permanent appointment,” said Safaricom in a Tuesday press statement whose undersigned is the company secretary Kathryne Maundu.
