Ruto assures Ukambani residents they will be the first to enter heaven

Speaking during a visit in Kitui County on Thursday, November 13, 2025, Ruto said, “Sikizeni nyinyi watu wa Ukambani. Hii Ukambani imechezewa karata ya pata potea siku mingi. Acha niseme nikiwa hapa, hii Ukambani, the people of Ukambani are the best people, ni watu wazuri sana, watu wa Ukambani. Kama kuna watu watatangulia mbinguni ni watu wa Ukambani.”

He added that Ukambani has been neglected in the past and vowed to ensure the region receives the attention it deserves.
Promises for inclusion in future govt
Ruto also said that Ukambani will play a key role in the next government, assuring residents of their full inclusion in planning and decision-making.
“Hii Ukambani haiwezi kuchezewa karata ya pata potea ya kuenda upinzani. Hii Ukambani kwa mapenzi ya Mungu, juu chini, kulia na kushoto, mbele na nyuma, hii Ukambani tunatengeneza serikali 2027 pamoja na nyinyi,” he said.
He highlighted that the people’s support and involvement will be central to forming a government that works for all regions, promising that Ukambani will not be ignored.

The President’s comments show his commitment to bridging regional gaps and ensuring that Ukambani receives infrastructure, development, and political representation.

Ruto’s message also carried a spiritual note, indicating that the people of Ukambani are highly respected and that their contributions are valued. By describing them as “first in line for heaven,” he aimed to acknowledge their perseverance and the challenges they have faced over the years.
During his address, Ruto repeatedly highlighted the region’s importance to his vision for a unified and inclusive government by 2027.
He called on residents to remain engaged in the political process and assured them that their needs would be prioritised. His remarks come amid ongoing discussions about regional development and the role of local communities in shaping national policies.
Ruto’s visit and his words of praise were well-timed, as they came ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Ukambani playing a strategic role in the political landscape.
