Prominent Nairobi businessman and accomplished lawyer, Karanja Kabage, is dead.

Kabage died aged 70 on Friday night (July 5, 2019) in a road accident at Karen in Nairobi.

Sources say the tycoon suffered a cardiac arrest while at the wheel, causing his vehicle to careen off the road before crashing.

A motorist, who was driving on the same road as Kabage, rushed the victim to Nairobi Hospital, but the lawyer succumbed to his injuries.

Kabage is a prominent insurance expert.

He served as a director at African Reinsurance Corporation and First Reinsurance Brokers Limited.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has mourned the Late Kabage as a “highly resourceful person, particularly in the insurance sector”.

Kabage was one of the mourners, who attended the Late Bob Collymore’s memorial service at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi on Thursday.

The Late Kabage expressed interest in politics, including running unsuccessfully for Nakuru senatorial seat in the 2017 polls. He lost to Susan Kihika by a margin of 150, 000 votes.
