Ohangla sensation Evans Ochieng Owino, popularly known as Prince Indah, has revealed how one of his uncles, who was Raila Odinga’s die-hard fan, died shortly after finding news of Raila’s failure to win the 2007 presidential elections.

According to Idah, who confessed on Friday, October 17, 2025, during an interview with a local media house, the relationship his uncle had with Raila was one of great loyalty.

Idah further detailed that upon the announcement of the 2007 general elections, the uncle fell ill due to the outcome, as then Mwai Kibaki was declared Kenya’s 3rd President, something he was not expecting at the time.

“My uncle was affected and passed on over Raila Odinga not being declared the winner during the 2007/8 elections,” Idah revealed.

Idah’s tribute song

As Kenyans gather to mourn the late Raila Odinga, Prince Indah recently announced the release of a special tribute song in honour of the late Raila Amolo Odinga, Kenya’s former Prime Minister and iconic statesman, whose death earlier today has sent shockwaves across the nation and continent.

In an emotional statement shared on his social media platforms on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, the celebrated musician revealed that the song—titled “Wuod Oganda, Amolo 3 in 1”—will officially premiere on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 6:00 a.m.

According to Indah, the time chosen for dropping the song is a symbolic hour “before the Sun has risen, as directed by Juogi”, in reference to Luo ancestral spirits.

“BABA! AGWAMBO! JAKOM! TINGA! ENIGMA! NYUNDO! RAO! PEOPLE’S PRESIDENT! JOSHUA… Ladies and gentlemen, the spirits of Got Ramogi have descended unto me this evening. I am here at the recording studio’s booth for Wuod Oganda, Amolo 3 in 1. Officially, a special tribute song is to be released tomorrow in the morning at 6:00AM, a time when the sun has not risen, as directed by JUOGI. FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS, JAKAWUOR,” Prince Indah wrote on Facebook.

He will be laid to rest this Sunday, October 19, 2025, at his Opoda home in Bondo, Siaya County.
