Kenya Power lists 5 counties set to experience electricity interruption on Tuesday

Kenya Power has warned residents living in several parts of the country of planned power interruption on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

In a notice, the utility company notified electricity users that the power interruption will be caused by the system maintenance.

According to the notice, specific areas in the five counties will experience power outages from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

“The listed areas will be affected by planned power interruptions tomorrow (18th June 2024). The interruption is part of network maintenance,” Kenya Power’s notice read in part.

The 5 counties

In Kiambu County, the affected areas will include Kiambaa Centre, Chief Koinange Girls, Wanguthu and adjacent areas.

Around Red Hill area in Maramba, Njiku, Laini Centre, Norbrook Factory, Higgins, Acme Containers, Kentmere Club, St Ruth Academy, Hill House, Lady Wood Farm, Echuka, High Wood Farm, Valley Dam, Kentmere Gardens, Raphaelites, Merellies Farm, Maramba Tea and adjacent areas will all experience the power outage.

In Murang’a County, Kakuzi Staff Quarters, Makuyu Township, Greenland Ltd, Kamahuha Market, Sabasaba Township, Kandani Market, Kaguku Village, Githembe Market, Ndonga Village and adjacent customers will also be without electricity from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The Power transmitting company also listed parts of Meru County which will experience electricity interruption on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

The areas are Tulivu Gardens, Mitunguu Market, Tunyai Market, Mitunguu Dispensary, Mitunguu Police Station, Kaurone, Mitunguu Booster, Kithatu Sisters and Hospital, Kibuka Primary School and adjacent customers will also experience power outages.

In Nyeri, Blue Line, Gitinga, Munyaka, Aguthii, Kakuret, KWS Mt. Kenya, Kiriakor, Soweto, Naromoru Girls, Judea, Meree, Lusoi, Warazo, Ndathi, Mapema, Munyu Aguthii, Gitinga, Warazo Jet, Ndathi, Kabaru adjacent customers will experience the outage due to the planned system maintenance.

According to the notice Gumo Farm, Molem, Kimwondo, Elgon Tea, Muroki, Saboti, Gitwamba, Panocal, Soy Mining, Bull Station, Sabwani ADC, Kapkoi, Katuke, Suam Chepchoina and Endebess in Trans Nzoia County will be affected by the scheduled system maintenance.

The notice is issued to help customers prepare in advance for the outage.
