Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has promised to make Kenya an industrial country if he wins the presidency in 2027.

The outspoken politician emphasised implementing great projects once he assumes power in the next general election.

“I will bring hope through industrial development as part of my 2027 presidential campaign strategy,” Salasya asserted on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

As part of his presidential campaign, Salasya insisted that civic education in Kenya is vital since it enhances public understanding and engagement with the Constitution and governance, aligning with his efforts to inform and mobilise citizens, potentially leveraging Molo’s economic and demographic context to build support for his vision of making Kenya an industrial country.

This follows his announcement two months ago, April 28, 2025 where the Mumias East MP threw his hat into the ring for the 2027 presidential election, joining a growing list of early aspirants.

Salasya said that his decision was made after “deep reflection, wide consultations, and careful consideration” of Kenya’s current political and economic situation. The youthful lawmaker emphasised that Kenya needs bold and transformative leadership to steer the nation toward industrial growth, economic empowerment, and social justice. Salasya also pointed out that his leadership would prioritise manufacturing, innovation, and industrialisation to create sustainable jobs and opportunities for all Kenyans.

“Kenya stands at a crossroads. We cannot continue exporting our labour and talents abroad while our industries collapse and our youth languish in unemployment,” he stated.Salasya called on Kenyans from all walks of life to join him on the journey toward what he called a “new dawn” for the country, promising that under his leadership, Kenya would reclaim its rightful place on the global stage through empowerment, innovation, and unity.
