People Daily’s Linda Bach named Kenya Editor’s Guild CEO
By Lucky Oluoch, September 30, 2025People Daily’s Quality Assurance Lead Linda Bach has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Kenya Editors Guild (KEG), effective October 16, 2025, the guild’s president Zubeidah Kananu announced on Monday, September 29, 2025.
In her first remarks following the appointment, Bach expressed gratitude and affirmed her commitment to strengthening the Guild’s mandate.

“First, I thank God. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the Guild in this new role, having served before as a Council Member for Print and chairperson of the Programme’s Committee,” she said.
“I endeavour to work with stakeholders to achieve the Guild’s objectives, which include promoting media freedom, credibility and professionalism. I look forward to supporting the KEG President and the Executive Council to steer the association to greater heights. To the members, I am looking forward to your support.”
Bach replaces outgoing CEO Rosalia Omungo, who has served in the role since 2017.
KEG President Kananu announced the changes
KEG President Kananu announced the changes in a communication to members, expressing confidence in Bach’s leadership.
“Linda brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, and we are confident that her leadership will drive the organisation forward,” Kananu stated, adding, We look forward to the impact she will make as our new CEO.”
While at it, Kananu also thanked Omungo for her “sterling role” in steering the Guild over the years.
“We take this opportunity to sincerely thank the outgoing CEO, Rosalia Omungo, for her sterling role in steering KEG for the past eight years. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours.”
Before the appointment, Bach served as a Council Member in the guild, in charge of Print Media on the KEG Executive Council. Following her appointment, she stepped down and handed over the position to Andy Kagwa of Standard Group, who was appointed in accordance with Article VI clause 6 of the KEG Constitution.
“The Executive Council has appointed Millicent Awuor as chairperson of the Programmes Committee, replacing Linda (Bach),” Kananu announced in a related leadership adjustment.
