The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Youth League Chairperson, Kasmuel McOure, has held consultations with ODM Party Leader  Raila Odinga on the youth agenda within the party.

In a statement on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, McOure said the meeting focused on a wide range of issues affecting young people and the role of the youth in strengthening ODM’s grassroots networks and structures.

“I spent the morning in consultation and briefing with my party leader, Raila Odinga, on matters concerning the ODM Youth League ahead of our ODM at 20 Celebrations,” McOure said.

Furthermore, he revealed that during the briefing, he presented updates on the ongoing citizen-led dialogue process, a youth-driven initiative aimed at amplifying the voices of ordinary Kenyans in shaping the country’s political and social agenda.

He said Odinga fully endorsed the dialogue and encouraged the youth to take up an active role in ODM’s future.

“Together, we shall continue building our country and strengthening the Orange Democratic Movement. Chama Kubwa, Siku Zote!” he added.

ODM Youth League

This comes a month after McOure urged the youth to join the ODM Youth League and take advantage of the opportunity to grow politically and ideologically within a party that has shaped the country’s democracy.

In a statement on August 7, 2025, while reflecting on his journey from childhood learning to mastering musical instruments and now navigating the political landscape under the mentorship of ODM leader Raila Odinga, Kasmuel emphasised the value of consistency and humility in the pursuit of excellence.

“If you’re young and want to be great at something, show up every day. And don’t be afraid to look silly for trying. That’s where the growth is. Join the ODM youth league today, and let’s grow together,” he stated.

Furthermore, he encouraged them to embrace curiosity, persistence, and continuous learning as they step into national leadership.

“I’m grateful for the gift of curiosity; the freedom to not give two hoots about looking dumb when learning or building something new. I put in the hours. I do the research. I seek out lessons from the very best,” he said.

“From my parents helping me memorise as a kid, to learning speech from my primary school teachers, to musical instruments in high school, and now, understanding national politics under the mentorship of the institution that is Raila Odinga,” he added.
