Nakuru County Governor, Lee Kinyanjui, has warned that public hospitals within the county may not be able to admit more Covid-19 patients amid an uptick of cases in the last three weeks.

Kinyanjui noted that the latest survey in most health facilities revealed that private facilities were already full, adding that already public hospitals are at 80 percent and rising.

According to the governor, in a few weeks, hospitals will be unable to contain the rising numbers calling on residents to observe the laid down guidelines by the Ministry of Health.

He warned that continued causal behavior by members of the public of not wearing masks and observing social distancing was spreading the virus further.

Kinyanjui said that they are mulling on imposing restrictions within the county to ensure the rising cases are brought down.

He urged locals to take the disease seriously, saying disobedience could have serious ramifications for individuals and the county.

On the Building Bridges Initiative, Kinyanjui said the county had already formed a committee of experts and lawyers to analyze the report and give a verdict as a county.

Kinyanjui said that there had been a lot of opposing forces even before the report was released. He called on Kenyans to read the document and form their own views.

According to Kinyanjui, the report brings about inclusivity which will end perennial conflicts.

On his part, Principal Secretary State Department of Housing Charles Hinga also called on Kenyans to read and understand the report.

The PS said that the report is citizen-based, adding that the President wishes well for the country.
