Interior Cabinet Secretary Kichumba Murkomen has publicly criticised Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of spreading false information regarding national security issues, calling him a pathological liar.

Murkomen has called out the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua to refute from misleading Kenyan’s, while dismissing his remarks that he has called on him to record a statement with the police upon his return to the country over his remarks on Al-Shabaab and illegal business activities linked to the terror group. while in the United States.

CS Murkomen, while making his remarks on Monday, August 11, 2025, during the 27th Jukwaa la Usalam engagement in Narok County, has also dared Gachagua to provide information backing his remarks to the relevant authorities.

“Since he has information, you can still lie to us. You know this pathological liar; you can see through his lies. One minute, he says he has information relevant to dealing with Al-Shabaab, and the next, he claims people doing business are operating with the enemy,” Murkomen said.

Likewise, according to Murkomen, the former Deputy President has been inciting the public while adding that he has been going after bytes for his social media, which he claims is uncalled for such a leader looking forward to running for a high office.

“In the other minute, when he is told to put that information in a proper record, he starts running away because he is not going to record that information, which means it is just lies and sound bytes for social media and for the purpose of inciting the public,” Murkomen said.

Furthermore, the CS has also challenged the former Deputy President to come forward and present his allegations in writing together with evidence, if indeed he is a man of integrity.

“If he is a man enough and a person of integrity, he should put his allegations in writing together with the evidence that he has,” Murkomen said.

On his part, Gachagua has publicly declared that he will announce his arrival date just in case someone is interested in arresting him.

“When my day to go to Kenya is due, I will announce the date, the hour and the flight number so that whoever is interested in arresting me can go ahead and do it,” Gachagua said while in Los Angeles on Sunday.

“Every day they discuss me in Parliament and say they will arrest me, I just move on, I am not a leader who buys fear,” he added.
