The Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi has arrived in Algiers, Algeria.
Mudavadi is attending the 11th ministerial meeting of the African Union Committee of Ten (C10), which is tasked with the responsibility of spearheading the reform initiative at the United Nations (UN) Security Council, including pushing for greater representation of Africa at the UN Security Council.
The Ministerial meeting is scheduled for June 10, 2024, at the International Conference Centre in Algiers.
In addition to Kenya, the other member states of the C-10 include Uganda, Namibia, Sierra Leone, Libya, Equatorial Guinea, Senegal, Zambia, the Republic of Congo, and Algeria.
“The Committee of Ten Heads of State and Government (C10), dedicated to advancing Education, Science, and Technology, will convene for its session on February 16, 2024, at the 37th African Union (AU) Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This session, scheduled prior to the official commencement and pre-launch of the 2024 Theme of the Year focusing on Education, will bring together the current C10 members,” AU says on its website.
“The C10 plays a crucial role in promoting education, science, technology, and innovation as key elements in achieving the vision of “the Africa We Want,” as outlined in Agenda 2063. The committee’s composition reflects the AU’s commitment to regional representation, with two Heads of State from each of the five AU regions. This assembly underscores the continent’s dedication to fostering educational and technological growth as foundational pillars for a prosperous and sustainable future.”
