MP remanded at Kileleshwa Police Post awaiting sentencing over Ksh297M fraud

A Nairobi court on Monday found Sirisia MP John Waluke guilty of receiving money in Sh297 million National Cereals and Produce maize scandal.

The MP will be held at Kileleshwa Police Station ahead of sentencing on June 25.

Waluke, however, was acquitted over two counts of uttering documents by false pretenses.

The court found that there was fraud and the accused people acquired money by false pretences, Nairobi Magistrate Elizabeth Juma ruled.

Waluke was charged alongside Grace Wakhungu, a businessman.
