A Gatundu North parliamentary aspirant is accusing Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria of selling his Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) certificate to his challenger who allegedly joined the party recently and who is said to be of deep pockets.

In an emotional letter to Kuria, Mathew Mukuha Mwangi says money exchanged hands to deny him the certificate despite campaigning to get the seat for close to three years now.

“Money exchanged hands. I am very much aware of the dealings through the party SG, who has been receiving the money in cash form in the pretence of “lifetime membership”.

“I don’t refuse, I am a very young aspirant with shallow pockets and very dedicated to the call of the people. My biggest sin is being an unemployed youth with big dreams,” Mukuha stated in the letter.

In his statement, the hopeful MP claimed that the certificate, allegedly dated April 18, 2022, was issued two days before their consensus meeting scheduled for April 15, in a smart way of averting a possible lawsuit.

“Be aware that you have not been returning any of my calls or SMS and WhatsApp messages. I am aware that there are few aspirants who went for consensus and had a solution, why is my case different?

“Kindly note that I have been denied justice and loyalty has been quashed. I stood for you and the party when you needed me, but when I needed you, the party and my hard work, you totally broke my hands and my spirit even at such a time when I am mourning the loss of my grandmother.

“I am helpless. I have no capacity or finances to follow the legal way, but I surely have great supporters who saw my dream, who values and have seen the works that I had already achieved in my limitedness and are ready to elect me,” he said.

Mukuha further accused Kuria of oppressing him despite having stated that he would do anything to uplift the youth by providing platforms for them.

The hopeful MP expressed sadness that he has failed in identifying how he will face the people of Gatundu North after the CCK party leader allegedly traded his certificate to a stranger.

K24 Digital reached out to Moses Kuria for his comment since he was the accused person in his capacity but the legislator instead directed us to the party’s Secretary-General Kimani Nage.

“When there are issues in UDA, do you call Ruto? You should talk to the secretary-general,” Kuria said.

Our efforts to reach the party’s SG ended in vain as he neither picked up our phone calls nor responded to our messages by the time of publishing this article.
