Monday blackout to affect 5 counties

Kenya Power has announced a partial power blackout affecting five counties on Monday, July 22, 2024.

Among the counties set to be affected include Bomet, Trans Nzoia, Kisii, Nyamira and Nyeri.

In a statement, Kenya Power said the outages will be as a result of scheduled maintenance.

“These areas will be affected by scheduled power interruptions tomorrow (Monday, July 22, 2024),” Kenya Power stated.

In Bomet, the blackout which will run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm will affect areas such as Kiromwok Bondet, Kitoben, Kapkesiego, Suswondo, Bukacha, Belgut, Mononwet, Menet, Bilelga, Tumoiyot and adjacent customers.

In Trans Nzoia, the outage will be felt from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in Kaplamai, Nyakinywa, Kipsingori, Kimoson, Kaplamai, Kapchepsir, Moi High School, Kaplamai, Botwa, Karara, Bata Muhuyu and adjacent customers.

In Kisii, the outage running from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm will affect areas such as Igonga, Mogumo and adjacent customers.

In Nyamira, the outage will affect Sanganyi, Kebirigo, Makairo, Sironga, Konate, Miruka, Nyamira Town and adjacent customers between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.

In Nyeri, the outage will run from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm affecting Chorongi, Kwa Ndegwa, St Jude, Kagayu, Thunguma, Meeting Point, Ruringu, Oilcom, Triton and adjacent customers.
