Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho is receiving treatment at the Mombasa Hospital after he was diagnosed with malaria.
Joho has been in hospital for five days now, medical doctors at the facility told K24 Digital.
Former Nigeria President Olusegun Obasanjo, who was in the coastal county for a convention on urban development, visited Joho in hospital on Friday, November 8.
“I am praying that my admission here ends soon,” Joho told K24 Television.
The county chief was also visited by Mvita lawmaker Abdulswamad Nassir.
In his interview with K24 TV, Joho spoke about the outcome of the November 7 Kibra by-election, in which ODM’s Imran Okoth was declared the winner.
“I am happy with the [Kibra] results. After being discharged from hospital, I will join Imran in celebrating the victory,” he said.
Doctors at Mombasa Hospital expect to discharge Joho from hospital on Friday, November 8.
