A Kisumu businessman who ran a popular nightclub has been found dead five days after he was reported missing.

The body of Thomas Ochieng, who was reported missing on Wednesday, September 30, was found at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary on Monday morning.

His family identified his body after they were informed that a body that had been found stashed in a plastic body bag was taken to the mortuary.

It was not immediately clear who found and took the body to the mortuary.

“His body was at the Russia hospital [Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital],” said Kisumu Residents Association Chairman, Audi Ogada.

Ogada said it was also not clear what caused his death as his body was swollen.

The association’s boss raised the alarm over rising murders in Kisumu County claiming that a teacher disappeared without a trace last month.

Ogada said that even though the vehicle the teacher was using was found, his whereabouts are still unknown.

The businessman ran the popular Casablanca nightclub at Dunga Beach.
