Maraga launches his 2027 campaign strategic plan
By Nancy Marende, July 24, 2025Former Chief Justice David Maraga has declared that the second pillar of his campaign, Reset, Restore, Rebuild, will focus on restoring human dignity with socio-economic rights at its core.
Speaking during the launch of Hakijamii’s Strategic Plan (2025-2028) on Thursday, July 24, 2025, Maraga emphasised that his campaign is grounded in the belief that access to basic socio-economic rights such as education, health, land, and housing is not a privilege but a fundamental human right and the foundation of social justice.
“The second pillar of my campaign, rest, rebuild, restore, speaks to the restoration of human dignity and UTU,” he said.
“At the core of this are socio-economic rights, including the right to education, health, land, and housing. These rights are at the core of human dignity and social justice,” he added.
Maraga also urged Kenyans to remain committed to the pursuit of human rights, the rule of law, and social justice.
“I urged Hakijamii and the rest of the participants at the launch to remain vigilant and committed to the pursuit of social justice, human rights, and the rule of law. We must all work together in holding the government accountable to uphold the Constitution,” he added.

27 campaign platform
This comes a few days after Maraga launched his presidential campaign fundraising platform dubbed the ’27 Campaign Platform.’
Speaking on July 18, 2025, Maraga stated that the platform allows Kenyans to contribute as little as Ksh50 to support what he termed a people-driven movement to “Reset, Restore, and Rebuild Kenya.”
“I will appeal to Kenyans to contribute to the campaigns. I’ll put in very little money, around Ksh1 million or Ksh2 million. I don’t have much money,” Maraga said during an interview with a local TV station.
The digital platform enables well-wishers to contribute by entering their name, phone number, email address, and the amount of their donation. Supporters may also leave an optional message.
Maraga explained that the contributions will go towards grassroots mobilisation, campaign events and town halls, digital outreach, and building a national network of volunteers and supporters.
He emphasised that every cent will be accounted for, and any excess funds will be redirected to a public cause, with the campaign headquarters based in Westlands, Nairobi.
Expressing confidence in the power of ordinary Kenyans, particularly the youth and under-represented communities, Maraga said the time had come for a leadership rooted in integrity, competence, and justice.
“With the suffering Kenyans have gone through, I’m sure we’ll get Ksh50,100 from individuals. I’m hoping we’ll get excess, and whatever is left, we will give it to a public cause,” he stated.
Maraga reiterated his vision of forming a government of professionals and experts, saying only qualified and accountable individuals would serve under his administration.
“Every public servant must earn their place and deliver results. We will not run a government of rewards and cronies,” he said.
