Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi intends to legalize weed and change the National Anthem claiming it’s ‘healthy for the nation,’ if his social media post is something to go by.

In a short video he shared on Twitter, the ANC party member was seen dancing to the rhythm of Reggae music together with a few others.

” I promise to legalize the holy weed and change the National Anthem to a more transformative tune. It is healthy for the nation,” Havi tweeted.

This comes a few weeks after the Rastafari Society of Kenya and their leader Prophet Mwendwa Wambua moved to court seeking orders to legalize marijuana.

Represented by lawyer Shadrack Wambui, the society moved to court on Monday, May 17 seeking to suspend the act which involves the arrest, prosecution, and conviction of the members of the Rastafari society for their spiritual and private growth and use of cannabis in their private homes or designated places of worship.

“That the impugned law which was enacted in the year 1994 is hostile and intolerant to persons professing the Rastafari faith yet we are in a new constitutional framework following the promulgation of the constitution of Kenya 2010 that is progressive and accommodative to diversity and is protective of the marginalized group who include members of the 1st petitioner and the 2nd Petitioner/Applicants” read the application.

With the general elections around the corner, elective posts hopeful are sharing their manifesto with Kenyans in a bid to win their votes come 2022.

Havi announced that he will be running for Westland’s parliamentary seat home to high suburb areas such as Runda, Lakeview, Muthaiga, Kitisuru, and Highridge, as well as slum areas like Kangemi, Githogoro, DeepSea, Mji Wa Huruma, Kaptagat, Kibagare, Ndumboini, Maasai and Suswa.
