Seven candidates have been shortlisted for election for the position of Nairobi County Assembly Speaker.

The post fell vacant after Beatrice Elachi resigned abruptly on Tuesday, August 12, citing life-threating incidences among other issues.

Nairobi MCAs are scheduled to elect a new Speaker on Friday afternoon, August 13.

The seven shortlisted candidates are:

  1. Benson Mutura Kangara
  2. Abdi Ali Abdi
  3. Dr Odingo Odhiambo Washington
  4. Mike Obonyo Guoro
  5. Allan Chacha Mang’era
  6. Kennedy Okeyo Ng’ondi
  7. Alex Sanaika ole Magelo
