Following the nomination of Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki for the position of Deputy President, leaders have poured their congratulatory messages.

The leaders commended Kindiki’s leadership skills, stating that they are confident in him as the next DP.

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, who was tipped for the position, congratulated Kindiki and thanked those who supported her.

President William Ruto on Friday, October 18, 2024, nominated Kindiki to replace the impeached Rigathi Gachagua after IEBC cleared him as being qualified for the DP position. He has also been cleared by DCI, KRA, CRB, EACC, and HELB.

Kindiki will proceed to his new office, Harambee Annex, if approved by Parliament to be Keneya’s next second in command.
