A landlord and his son suspected to have killed their tenant over rent arrears are on the run.

Dagoretti Sub-County Police Commander George Seda said they are also investigating the cause of the fire that torched the rental units where the slain tenant lived.

Mr Seda told K24 Digital that the murder was reported on Tuesday, February 11 while the landlord’s houses were set ablaze the following day.

The Kawangware landlord is suspected to have killed the tenant for allegedly defaulting on Sh2,500 rent.

Locals took the streets with crude weapons hunting for the landlord.
