Two key witnesses, who are under witness protection, are set testify on December 2 and 3, 2019, in Sharon Otieno murder case.
High Court judge Jessie Lessit held the pretrial conference on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, where all parties agreed on hearing dates.
Migori Governor Okoth Obado, his personal assistant Michael Oyamo and Mr Casper Obiero, a clerk in Migori County Assembly, were charged with murdering the 26-year-old Rongo University student and her unborn child.
The three denied the murder charge, an act they were accused of committing on the night of September 3 and 4, 2018, at Owade in Rachuonyo Sub-County, Homa Bay County.
Mr Obado was released from court detention after depositing a cash bail of Sh5 million and two sureties of Sh5 million each.
His aide Obeiro and Mr Oyamo had initially been denied bail by Justice Lesiit after ruling that releasing them was likely to disturb public order and peace.
But the duo appealed against the ruling and were ordered to deposit Sh1 million each or an alternative bond of Sh2 million each by the Court of Appeal.
Justices Mohamed Warsame, Daniel Musinga and Otieno Odek said if peace and order have continued to prevail in the county since the release of Governor Obado on bail, they did not see why the same would be disturbed if the duo were to be released.
Twenty-four witnesses are lined up to testify in the murder trial.
