Businessman Chris Obure and his bodyguard Robert Ouko Bodo have been granted bail a month after the brutal murder of Kevin Omwega in Kilimani, Nairobi.

High Court Judge Jessie Lesit released the duo on varying bail terms on Monday, September 21.

Obure was freed on Sh2 million cash bail and two sureties of a similar amount while his bodyguard, Bodo, was granted Sh500,000 cash bail with two sureties of the same amount.

Further, the judge imposed conditions for their release, ordering the two not to handle any firearm until the matter is heard and determined.

They were also directed to neither interfere with witnesses who have been lined up to testify in the case nor contact the victim’s relatives.

The judge told them to deposit their passports with the court as well as file an affidavit showing where they will reside as the case proceeds.
