Kenya’s death toll rose to 554 after six patients died of the coronavirus disease in the last 24 hours, Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS), Dr. Rashid Aman, announced on Monday.
The Health CAS also revealed that the country recorded 193 new virus infections from a sample of 3,381 tested in the same time period.
All the new infections, Dr. Aman said, were all Kenyans except three foreigners.
This now brings to 32, 557 the number of people infected with the coronavirus disease since March.
Dr. Aman said that a two-month-old baby is among the new infections announced on Monday.
Speaking at the briefing, the Health Director-General, Dr. Patrick Amoth, said that the next two to three weeks will be critical in establishing whether the country has flattened the curve.
