Kenya’s coronavirus cases surged to 32, 364 on Sunday after 246 people tested positive from 4,179 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

So far, the country has conducted 421,983 tests since March when the first case was recorded in the country.

In the report by the Ministry of Health, the number of people who have recovered from the virus also increased to 18,670 after 217 more patients were discharged from treatment.

However, Kenya’s death toll rose to 548 after six more patients died of the virus.

All the people who tested positive for the virus on Sunday, only eight were foreigners.

As has been the pattern from the beginning, Nairobi still bears the highest burden of the disease with 78 cases.
