The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is set to start recruitment interviews for judicial staff, among them legal researchers and clerks, from today, October 12, 2020.
At least 632 shortlisted candidates are set to attend the physical interviews for various posts in the exercise scheduled to end on November 3, this year.
JSC had advertised 14 posts for law clerks, 158 for legal researchers and, 30 for senior legal researchers.
In a press statement sent to newsrooms, the JSC Secretary Anne Amadi, said immediately after interviews are over, the Commission shall embark on promotion interviews for magistrates and Kadhis.
“On 7th October, this year JSC advertised a total of 65 positions in various directorates aimed at addressing the human resource shortage in the JSC Secretariat and the Judiciary. The positions once filled will improve on service delivery to the public,” said Amadi.
She said JSC is committed to promoting and facilitating the independence and accountability of the Judiciary and the efficient, effective, and transparent administration of justice.
Amadi also announced that JSC has now scaled up its operations by resuming physical operations in addition to the online services but with strict compliance with the Ministry of Health Covid-19 protocols.
“Members of the public may now access the JSC offices in line with the laid down Covid-19 guidelines,” said Amadi.
JSC had scaled down its operations in the month of March, this year following the government’s directive for scaling down of services to contain Covid-19 pandemic, as per the advisory by the Ministry of Health.
