Inside ODM’s 20th anniversary celebration plans in Mombasa

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has announced a three-day celebration to mark the 20th anniversary of the Orange Democratic Movement’s existence, accompanied by various activities.

In a press statement issued on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, Sifuna announced that the ODM’s 20th anniversary celebration will be held in Mombasa County, coupled with various activities.

On his part, Sifuna, who took pride in the party for standing at the forefront of defending constitutionalism and people’s rights, has extended the party’s invitation to ODM members and supporters.

“The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) marks two decades of resilience, sacrifice, and unyielding commitment to democracy, justice, and the people of Kenya. As the party that has stood at the forefront of defending constitutionalism and people’s rights, we take pride in inviting our members, supporters, and all Kenyans to our 20th anniversary celebrations,” ODM said.

According to Sifuna, the celebrations are expected to run from October 10 to 12, 2025, in the historic city of Mombasa.

Likewise, on his part, he noted that the 20th anniversary celebration is a reflection of the struggles, victories, and lessons within the Party.

“This milestone is not only a commemoration of ODM’s journey but also a reflection on the struggles, victories, and lessons that continue to shape our vision for a just, united, and prosperous Kenya,” Sifuna said.

ODM activities in Mombasa

According to the ODM Secretary General, the three-day festivities will feature a youth summit and a women’s convention, which aim at celebrating the role of women in our democratic struggles and envisioning a more inclusive society.

“The three-day festivities will feature the future. A Youth Summit, bringing together young leaders and visionaries to chart. A Women’s Convention, celebrating the role of women in our democratic struggles and envisioning a more inclusive society,” Sifuna said.

Also, according to Sifuna, the three-day event will include a vibrant Youth Concert, showcasing talent, creativity, and the spirit of the Orange Movement, as well as a thrilling 4-team football tournament involving AFC Leopards SC, Bandari FC, Gor Mahia FC, and Shabana FC, symbolizing unity through sport.
