Mandera has become the fifth county to have travel restrictions imposed on after Covid-19 cases soar in the county.
Health Cabinet Secretary (CS) Mutahi Kagwe announced the decision on Wednesday, April 22, after reporting that two coronavirus cases had been reported in a refugee camp.
The northeastern county, which borders Somalia and Ethiopia now has eight coronavirus cases.
Further, Health CS also revealed that the number of Covid-19 cases in the country has increased to 303 after seven more people, all of them Kenyan nationals, tested positive.
On mass testing, Mr. Kagwe revealed that the government plans to test 250,000 people by the end of June but is also working with development partners to enhance targeted testing.
