The Inspector-General (IG) of Police Hillary Mutyambai has promoted nearly 50 senior police officers between the ranks of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and Assistant Inspector-General to the next level, Commissioner of Police.

In the new changes, IG Mutyambai also promoted 59 police officers to the rank of Chief Inspector of Police.

Mutyambai’s Principal Assistant Gideon Munga Nyale, an AIG, has also been promoted to the rank of Senior AIG (SAIG) alongside Rogers Mbithi of National Air support Department, Mohamed Amin of Internal Affairs Unit, Nairobi Regional Police Commander Rashid Yakub and Kanyonyo Abdulahi Aden, who heads the Border Patrol Unit College.

Here is the list of SSP and AIG officers promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police effective March 4, 2021.

“Inform the officers to wear appropriate badges Rank of Commissioner of Police and congratulate them on behalf of the Deputy Inspector-General of the Kenya Police Service for the well-earned promotion,” said the letter authored by DIG Edward Mbugua, Kenya Police Service.
